Becoming a member of the Group

We welcome new members who come from all backgrounds and with all experiences of driving or riding. The only ‘criteria’ is that you are keen to develop better driving or riding techniques and have an interest in road safety by improving your standards, knowledge and skills. Whether or not you plan to take the RoSPA Advanced Test is up to you – but most associate members do – and it is usually a good experience!

 

The first step is to get in touch with our Membership Secretary, Ajoy Chundee, he can be reached by email. It would be great to meet you before you become a member, so please do join us on a no obligation basis at one of our Monthly Group Meetings, or perhaps team-up with a member on a weekend drive/ride. Our meetings and weekend drives/rides are fun, informative and low-pressure. We are sure that you will enjoy attending one and will be interested in taking your enquiry further!

Membership of our Group costs £38 for your first year. This is made up of a recurring £18 annual membership fee plus £20 towards initial administration. You will need to either purchase a copy of, or access online, the latest issue of Roadcraft or Motorcycle Roadcraft and the latest issue of the Highway Code. These will provide an up-to-date reference for you. At this point you will be known as an "Associate Member".

As an Associate Member you will be allocated a tutor for your journey to becoming an advanced driver or rider.
